- A culinary herbs used in some Asian cuisines especially in IndoChina, Korea & Japan as a garnish or coooked with other vegetables and/or with fish
- The fresh leaves has a slightly fishy smell but the smell will be gone once they get completely dried.
- Known as 'Dokudami' and famous as a 'detox herb' in Japan. They are commercialized as 'Dokudami Tea'.
- It grows well in wet/ moist soils in either full sun or partial shade.
